Deckbuilding Tips

Decks custom built are a shaky balance between Trainers, Pokémon, and Energy.  If you have too many or not enough of any of these three, a deck is no good.  Tips will be outlined here, and can be submitted to Venusaur at venusaur@arnoldassociates.com, and please include "Building Tips - (Type of tip)" in the subject.

The most important thing in successful deckbuilding is ... Energy!  Most decks need 24-30 Energy, although some stalling decks have 50.  If you don't have enough, the Pokémon will not be able to use those cool attacks that you deprived the deck of Energy for.  For decks with multiple types, the Energy ratio should be that of the Pokémon ratio.  If you have 10 Grass and 7 Lightning Pokémon, you need 15 Grass and 12 Lightning or so.

For choosing the Energy types, consider this: most popular decks are Rain Dance and Haymaker, we would love about 10 different decks of those types.
